Rigging a Robot

Last week I finished rigging this robot character called Gest, for a short animated student film called Rajsic. It's a robot with a wheel for feet. In this video the rig has stretchy IK/FK arms and body. I have since updated the arms and instead of having them stretch out, they come out when pulled. 

Figuring out the arms was a real challenge, I'm not gonna lie. It took trial and error and the help of a really amazing friend who is a genius at rigging. Finally I was able to create arms that come out when pulled (in three different levels), instead of stretching the geometry.
